Here is the fourth installment our Alumni Career Journeys, showcasing former Intern Colombia interns who share with us the advantages of an internship abroad.
Interning abroad can provide you with the confidence to take on challenges & adventures in the future, and long-term benefits.
For Elin, it meant moving abroad to study a Master's in Human Rights after having a life-changing experience in Colombia. Here is what he said to us:
During my Bachelor's studies, I had the opportunity to complete an internship in Medellín, where I worked with an NGO who puts a focus on women, children and peacebuilding. My time there was truly life-changing. I learned so much, grew both personally and professionally, and deepened my commitment to human rights work. This experience inspried me to continue my journey.
Today, I'm pursuing my Master's in Human Rights and am currently in Cape Town (South Africa), completing an internship focused on women's rights. I'm incredibly grateful for the path that started in Colombia. If you are thinking about doing an internship in Colombia, I fully recommend it, you will learn and growh both professionally but also on a personal level - you will have so much fun!
Stay tuned for the next installment of our Intern Colombia Alumni Career Journeys! We will continue to share the journeys of our former IC interns.
